Great write up as always Brian. Duke’s defense will win us a lot of games this season. Great to see AJ breakout. Hopefully it’s a sign of things to come but like you said, we have to be patient with him.

Williams- to me two things jumped out. He was able to have the game he had vs another 7 footer so it wasn’t like he was bigger than everyone on the floor. He also provided that option that gave Duke to score against the zone. Now this wasn’t the Syracuse zone but still…
AJ- Just seems to add another element to Duke. I noticed when he stood next to Keels & Moore he appears to be quite a bit taller than them. And even next to Joey he looked to be talkers. Also he has a thick, strong build that allowed him to go strong to get rebounds. If he keeps playing like this, look out Jeremy bc AJ could really compliment Keels & Moore…
- Banchero & Roach didn’t have their best games but Duke won big. To me this shows that Duke doesn’t not have to rely on them, especially Banchero to win.
- Last thing. There is a reason why Stanley is a walk on … dude needs to work on being able to move his feet quicker and play less stiff. I know playing 2 minutes in a game isn’t a true indicator but just my observation.
